Central and South America Cruising Cruising Ships at Grand Turk Island

Central America

Cruises to Central America are a must see engineering marvel.  The Panama Canal remains one of the most significant waterways on earth. It is also a fantastic place full of natural attractions and water sports. No holiday comes close to the dramatic scope of a journey through the Panama Canal.

The highlight of a cruise to the Panama Canal is the day-long adventure through the 51-mile long canal and its three locks and gates. On board, exploration speakers will guide guests through the amazing history of the canal.  Guests can learn about these locks and how the canal itself works.  100 years after its completion, the Panama Canal, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, remains one of the most important trade routes in the world.

Panama Canal cruises can last 10 to 25 days, although week-long cruises are also available. Destinations are not limited to the canal, but may feature stops throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

South America

Cruises to South America are exotic, mysterious and magical. You will experience contrasting cities, stunning archaeological ruins, icy fjords, lush dense jungles and landscapes so remote that they've rarely been seen by anyone but the most intrepid explorers.

A South American cruise is as culturally diverse as the landscapes you visit there.  From its lush dense jungles to pristine lakes and snow-capped volcanoes, South America mirrors North American seasons with itineraries generally running from October through April.

South America cruises can depart from Rio de Janeiro, Valparaiso or Buenos Aires, as well as from U.S. ports such as San Diego, New York or Fort Lauderdale.  Passengers seeking adventure and education will be attracted to South America cruise options, with some itineraries including stops in Antarctica.
